The short answer

Aged care agencies in Melbourne charge families $85 to $115 per hour for a support worker and pay the worker $30 to $35. The agency keeps $50 to $65 per hour -- every hour, every visit, for as long as the worker stays. That is not a service fee. It is a tax on the worker for having access to clients.

Nest and Nurture Elder Care takes a flat $20 per hour. A support worker who earns $32 per hour through an agency takes home $55 per hour on this platform. An enrolled nurse who earns $42 takes home $80. A registered nurse who earns $50 takes home $120. Same qualifications, same work, a structurally different arrangement.

How the pay actually works

Every booking has a fixed hourly rate. The worker is paid that rate minus a flat $20 per hour. The worker sees the full family rate before accepting any booking. There is no hidden percentage, no variable cut, no surprise on pay day.

What makes in-home aged care work different

One client per session

You are not managing a ward or a roster of fifteen. You go to one family, care for one person, and give the full session to them. The work is the work you trained for.

Consistent, recurring bookings

Once you are approved by a family, you return to the same client on the same schedule. Consistent work, consistent income, a real care relationship.

You choose your availability

Set the days, hours and suburbs you want to work in. You are only matched to families whose schedule and location fit your parameters.

Families who pay privately choose quality

Private in-home aged care clients are paying out of pocket. They are not waiting for a government package or accepting whoever the agency sends. They want a consistent, trusted professional. That is what the work attracts.

No agency roster management

No last-minute call-ins, no rotating you between clients without notice, no being sent somewhere you did not agree to. Your bookings are yours.
