Laundry work is lower physical intensity than a full clean, which is exactly why it suits some cleaners as part of a mixed week -- and the market rate reflects that lighter workload too.
What ironing and laundry services charge
Airtasker’s cost guide puts the national average hourly ironing rate at $25 to $31, with state averages of $37 in New South Wales, $30 in Victoria and $25 in Queensland. A combined ironing and folding job in Queensland has a reported median price of $80, with a range of $50 to $118 depending on the volume of washing.
The two laundry jobs on the system
A laundry reset is the bigger job: multiple loads washed, dried and folded, the laundry room cleaned, machines wiped down and shelving sorted, clearing a full backlog in one visit. A laundry folding and put-away session is shorter: the washing is already done, and the job is just folding everything properly and putting it away.
What Nest and Nurture Society cleaners take home
- Laundry folding & put-away session: $50/hr minimum
- Full laundry reset: $70/hr minimum
- Flat $20/hr fee, never a percentage, paid every Wednesday
What you need to apply
The same requirements apply as any job on the system: an ABN, a current police check, public liability insurance, transport and a smartphone.
