Why we charge a fixed price, not an hourly rate

Most cleaning is sold by the hour, which puts you and the cleaner on opposite sides of the clock. You want it done quickly, the meter wants it done slowly, and nobody really agrees on what finished looks like. We do it differently. Every clean is a defined service with a set scope and a set price, so you know exactly what you are paying for and exactly what you are getting.

You are not hiring a body for two hours and hoping. You are booking a specific clean to a specific standard.

Our minimum job is 2.5 hours, not the industry-standard two. Two hours in a modern household, with more people and less time than ever, almost always becomes a rushed job that skims the surface. The extra half hour is the difference between a clean that looks done and one that actually is.

Cleaning cost questions

How much does a cleaner cost in Ballarat?

At Nest and Nurture Society, cleaning in Ballarat is fixed price by service rather than charged by the hour. A regular 2-3 bedroom clean is 219 dollars weekly or 299 dollars fortnightly, a vacate clean starts at 419 dollars, a one-off deep clean starts at 495 dollars, and postpartum support starts at 198 dollars. You see the full price before you book, with no hidden fees.

Do you charge by the hour or a fixed price?

Fixed price. Every clean is a defined service with a set scope and a set price, so you know exactly what you are paying and exactly what is included before you book. There is no hourly meter running and no surprise on the final bill.

Why is the minimum booking 2.5 hours?

Our minimum job is 2.5 hours because that is the time a clean actually takes to be done properly. The industry-standard 2-hour clean is usually a rushed job, and most households today have more people and less time, so two hours simply is not enough to reach a real standard. We would rather do it right than do it fast.

How much does a regular weekly cleaner cost in Ballarat?

A weekly ongoing clean of a 2-3 bedroom home is 219 dollars and a 4-5 bedroom home is 259 dollars. Fortnightly is 299 dollars for a 2-3 bedroom and 339 dollars for a 4-5 bedroom. Each visit covers all living areas, the kitchen, bathrooms and floors throughout.

How much is a bond or vacate clean in Ballarat?

A vacate and end of lease clean is fixed at 419 dollars for a 1-2 bedroom, 669 dollars for a 3-4 bedroom and 759 dollars for a 5 bedroom home. It covers the oven, stovetop and rangehood, all bathrooms, spot-cleaned walls and inside windows, built to meet the agent standard so your bond comes back in full.

Why are some cleans more expensive than others?

Price reflects the scope and depth of the clean, not just the size of the home. A regular maintenance clean keeps an already-clean home fresh, while a deep clean or vacate clean reaches the oven, grout, skirtings and inside cupboards that take far longer. Bigger homes and more thorough cleans cost more because they take more time and detail.

Is there an extra charge for short-notice cleans?

Yes. Same day and next day bookings add a 30 percent short-notice surcharge, and bookings two days out add 15 percent. Bookings made three or more days ahead have no surcharge. Any surcharge is shown clearly at checkout before you pay.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. Every price is fixed and shown in full before you book. The only variation is the short-notice surcharge for same day, next day or 48-hour bookings, which is also displayed at checkout. What you see is what you pay.
